Terms
Terms of use
Last updated 26 September 2026.
These terms are the rules for using https://themailinator.com. They are an agreement between you and the person who operates this website (“we”). They do not remove a right that a law says cannot be removed.
The service
We provide a free page where anyone can open an address on @themailinator.com and read messages stored for that address. We also receive mail for that domain and store it so the page can show it. We do not provide a private mailbox, an account, a sending service, or a records archive.
Public inboxes
Every inbox is public. There is no login. Anyone who knows or guesses the mailbox name can read what is stored there, including messages sent to privacy@themailinator.com and abuse@themailinator.com. Do not use the site for passwords, password resets, payment details, identity documents, medical information, or anything else that would harm you if a stranger read it.
If you need confidentiality, a named supplier, or a promised deletion date, use a different service.
Who may use it
You may use the site if you are at least 16 years old and you can agree to these terms. The site is not directed at children. Do not use it to collect information about a child.
Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Send or cause anyone to send unlawful content, malware, or instructions for harm.
- Use the site to collect another person’s private mail, or publish someone else’s real address as one of these inboxes in order to gather their messages.
- Harvest personal data from stored messages.
- Break, probe, or overload the site, or bypass a limit we put in place.
- Present this site as a private, official, or encrypted mail service.
- Use the site in a way that infringes someone else’s rights.
Messages
You are responsible for the addresses you type into other products and for the messages those products send here. Email stored on the site stays visible to anyone who opens that inbox. We may delete a message or a whole inbox at any time, with or without notice. We do not promise delivery, order, completeness, or retention.
Attached files may be named on the message page. We do not offer those files for download.
Removal
If a stored message or a page on this site infringes your rights, or if you need a mailbox’s stored messages deleted, write to abuse@themailinator.com or privacy@themailinator.com. Include the mailbox name, the page URL or message id, and a description of the request. Do not attach identity documents or repeat the sensitive contents. Those inboxes are public.
We may remove material. We may also refuse a request that we cannot verify or that would break the service for everyone. We may keep a short record of the request itself. We may disclose information when the law requires it, and we may not be able to tell you first when the law forbids notice.
Intellectual property
The text we wrote, the illustrations we generated for this site, and the site design belong to the operator, except where a law reserves a right to you. You may share links to public pages. You may not copy the site and present it as your own service. Messages that other people send here are not our property. We display them so the public inbox can function.
Disclaimers
The site is provided as-is and as-available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, accurate, or free of harmful content that other people sent in. Some places do not allow a disclaimer this broad. In those places, the disclaimer applies only as far as the law allows.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost messages, public disclosure of anything sent to an inbox, lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages. The service is free. Where a cap is allowed, our total liability for a claim relating to the site is limited to 100 USD, or to the minimum amount the law requires if a lower cap is not allowed. Nothing in these terms limits liability that a law says cannot be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where that limit is prohibited.
If a claim is brought against us because of a message you caused to be sent here, or because you used the site unlawfully, you agree to cover the direct costs of that claim to the extent the law allows.
Changes and ending the service
We may change these terms by updating this page. The date at the top will change when we do. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply to the new use. We may also suspend or stop the site. We do not promise a replacement.
Disputes
These terms do not choose a country for you. If a court has to read them, it can apply the law that already covers you and the operator, including consumer rules that cannot be waived. A court with authority over the dispute can hear it.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to privacy@themailinator.com. That address is public. Read the privacy page before you send personal details.
